The educational project that led to the foundation of the Colégios Fomento is largely due to the encouragement of St. Josemaria Escrivá de Balaguer for parents to take an active part in their children's school education, ensuring that it incorporates Christian values.
Realizing the convenience of each college to have a chaplain and the teaching of Catholic Religion as a subject, a protocol was established with the Prelature of the Holy Cross and Opus Dei, whereby it deals with the appointment of chaplains and Religion teachers in all four Fomento schools.
With their priestly work, chaplains cooperate so that the Christian spirit is present in the formation that is provided to parents, teachers and students, with full respect for freedom of conscience.
The Chaplaincy of Colégio Planalto has the following priests: Father José Maria Moreira (Chaplain) and Father Diogo Brito.
Parents are offered the possibility to participate in various activities organized by the Chaplaincy:
Daily Mass, at 7:50 am and 9:30 am in the School Chapel, with the assistance of several groups of students (from Monday to Friday, in academic periods).
Weekend spiritual retreat for parents: on dates and places to be indicated in due course.
Similar activities are organized for mothers, with the mothers of Colégio Mira Rio.
