Nursery And Kindergarten
The Nursery of Colégio Planalto consists of 3 rooms:
Nursery | 1 Year Room | 2 Years Room
At Colégio Planalto there are 6 mixed rooms for children:
Two 3-year-old rooms | two 4-year-old rooms | two 5-year-old rooms
At Nursery, we try to give younger children a complete and comprehensive training based on personalized education. This project aims for children to develop their skills to the maximum, accepting their limitations, in order to achieve optimal levels of neurological maturity.
The activities are adapted to each child according to their own personal conditions. This first stage of education is of the utmost importance since it is the foundation for the balanced development of the human personality.
THE OPTIMIST PROJECT
We believe that the first years of life are a period of great neurological and cognitive plasticity, in which the child learns naturally, quickly and with pleasure.
In all Nursery and Kindergarden schools of Colégios Fomento, we have developed the Optimist Project which offers children rich and organized stimulation so that they achieve, according to their personal conditions, optimal levels of maturity, development and learning.
EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR VALUES
This program develops the capacity for self-control and initiates the education of the child's character, promoting the positive practice of habits such as order, sincerity, work, generosity, responsibility, obedience, etc., based on a Christian matrix vision of life and society.

It promotes the development of memory and verbal comprehension, through short stories, poetry, songs, and language games. It prevents learning difficulties linked to reading and allows each child, according to their own pace, to learn to read and write.
It favours the development of logical - mathematical knowledge, through the handling of objects and exploring the relationships that exist among them.
The Small Bird Program encourages the natural learning of English, taking advantage of the most sensitive period for the acquisition of a second language, with minimum effort, and trying to activate verbal and cognitive skills.
